"Ding Dong"
"Ding Dong"
I was in the bathroom when the doorbell rang. Doesn't it always happen that way?
"Ding Dong"
"Ding Dong"
Where the heck is Rich? He always answers the door! Where's Priscille?

I put on some clothes and quickly dash to the door!
"Who is it?" I ask.
"It's your neighbor. Your car lights are on."
I open the door and there is this young nice looking Asian guy.
"I was just driving by. I live down the street and saw your headlights on."
Oh my gosh...how nice is that? Embarassingly, I have to admit that this is not the first time this has happened. Since we moved here a year and a half ago, three neighbors have rung our door bell to tell me that I left my car lights on. All Asian. All men. Ha ha ha! One neighbor reminded me that it was street cleaning day and that I had better move my car.
What is the Universe saying? That there are nice people in my immediate neighborhood? That there are kind strangers who care? That I have guardian angels? That my neighbors are Asian as well as Caucasian and who knows what else?
There are so many messages coming to me on different levels. I can't seem to hear them clearly yet. I kinda feel like we should have a block party so that we can all meet each other. I know 3 nice men for sure....Bob, Steve and that older Asian guy with the golden retriever who always smiles at me now since telling me that my lights were on 2 weeks ago. I know Theresa. She's that lovely lady from Ireland who walks every morning. Oh! And there's that guy who came to our garage sale with his 2 darling kids....can't recall his name right now. Maria and Bob next door are so kind and friendly. They let us borrow their entire collection of books on Europe and their post card collection of the European cities they've visited. They are darling!
I think I am falling in love with this neighborhood!
I have been feeling more and more enamored with each incident of altruism....with each kind gesture...with each morning hello.
It is centrally located too! The mall is down the street; the grocery store is 3 blocks or so away; Priscille's school is 5 minutes away; the lake is 4 steps from our door; the bus stop is 2 steps down the path in front of the house....
