Ewan said something interesting the other night. He said "This is about what WE want to do." He's right. This is about what we, for whatever reasons and on some cosmic level, have not allowed ourselves to pursue, latent or otherwise. This is about coming out of the shadows and into the light.
How does this apply to Rule #1? Remember that we are all married and in our committed relationships. Ideally, your ideas, wants and desires are communicated to your spouse. If he or she would like to partake in what you have initiated or have expressed an interest in pursuing, then he or she ought to be considered and/or included in the activity. When your needs are verbalized, met and addressed, you become a more willing participant in the marriage and vice versa. Of course every relationship is different. As it relates to our activites, you make the call based on your situation but know that we welcome spousal support and attendance.
I think, however, our Charter Members meetings should be Members ONLY. This is our time to develop and nurture the unique support system we have.
And as I said in the beginning, this is all a work-in-progress. We ought to be as open and flexible as we need to be.
Just my opinion......
